Rev. Daniel Torkelson has served as sole pastor of St. John’s since 2011. He has also served as the Southeastern Regional Vice President for the South Wisconsin District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod since 2009. He graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1992. In 1996, he earned his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He earned his Master of Sacred Theology from the same institution the following year. In addition to his current call, he has served churches in Battle Creek, IA and Clyman, WI. He has also served on the Boards of Directors for the South Wisconsin District, A Place of Refuge Ministries, and Ida Sheltered Industries. He also has served as a volunteer and employee of Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, WI (now Bethesda Lutheran Communities) from 1983-1994, and again in partnership with one of their group homes from 2001-2011.
In 1994, he married Jennifer (nee Ness) and they have been blessed with six children, Matthew, Rebekah, Emily, Nathanael (adopted in China, 2007), Bethany, and Jonathan.
